See ya 2011

Hi everyone! Did you all have a spectacular Christmas? We had a fantastic time in Cobar catching up with our family and eating...a lot... We did take our joggers, planning to walk the food off but all we managed was a walk around the block in thongs after an afternoon sleep!!

Well, it is the time of year for reflection so we would love to start by saying thank you so much to our lovely customers for your support this year, we have loved meeting so many NICE people, locals and visitors. We get a real kick out of hearing people say they love our store!

Our best bits of 2011, in no particular order...
- Celebrating our first birthday! A big achievement for small businesses
- Changing the shop around to create our cafe corner
- Visiting Melbourne for Finders Keepers markets and Adelaide for Bowerbird Bazaar
- Having a super busy shop with the lead up to Christmas
- Learning how to crochet and hosting Curious Crafters crochet classes
- Seeing our advertisement in Frankie magazine
- Hosting World Wide Knitting in public day and raising $220 for Sunraysia Cancer Resources by raffling the blanket that was made
- Calling Charlotte our Christmas giveaway winner on Christmas eve to tell her she had won!
- Dealing with such lovely stockists and getting to meet them for reals at markets and trade fairs
- Growing friendships with the peeps that visit our shop

Wishing you all the best for 2012, dream big and do what you love to do!

Our fave song for 2011....

They don't make them like they used to!

Our good friend Renea thrifted a bunch of Christmas records and we would like to share a couple of covers.....
A bunch of happy kids with a sleepy Santa!

Not really sure what to say about this one but, isn't that a lovely jacket! This cover asks more questions than it answers.....

Bonus new years soundtrack! Styling it up in matching waistcoats, snazzy and jazzy!

Wish we could find this album cover! Enjoy!

You & Me - The Xmas edition

Time for a Christmas quiz! A=Annie S=Shell

What are you looking forward to this Christmas?
A: Being with all our family in Cobar
S: Going home! Seeing family! Giving my niece my handmade kringle! Eating! Drinking!

This way to Cobar

Do you have any Christmas traditions?
A:It used to be getting a pine tree on our farm the week before Xmas, it fell over every year! Now it's plastic....a real nice plastic one!
S: A new one is watching Bridget Jones Diary after lunch on Christmas day, usually changed into pyjama pants by this time!

Glamour shot?!

Fave Christmas movie?
A: The Santa Clause movies and The Polar Express
S: This one is hard, new faves are The Family Stone, Love Actually and Elf but my all time fave is National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, I have too many quotes from this movie - love it and all it's cringey moments!

What's for Christmas lunch?
A: Ham and sister Suze's secret glaze (OMG so good!), yummy salads and more ham!
S: Same as A! But with a side of rum balls!
Hot!
All I want for Christmas is?
A: To eat, drink and relax and not worry about normal everyday stuff. A wardrobe full of new clothes would be good too!
S: To spend it with my family and have a few days off  - totes happening, but while we are talking wish lists this treadlie would be nice - see Jelly Bean Bike's to create your own dream bike

The Beautiful Girl

Favourite Christmas present from childhood?
A: Boe the labrador puppy
S: A shared Sega was pretty cool, Alex the Kid and Sonic the Hedgehog kept us pretty busy those school holidays!
6 sleeps to go - yeah!
Three things in your shopping trolley?
A: Condensed milk for rum balls, ginger beer and pineapple juice for punch
S: Jatz for dipping, cherries and Pimm's for this drink

Four words to describe your Christmas?
A: Full, funny, messy, great
S: Tipsy, happy, foody, snoozy

There you have it! Feel free to answer any of the questions in the comments section....Hope you are having a great week leading up to Christmas.

Now for one of the best scenes from Elf!

Yay! It's film clip Friday!

Because I am so cool and stay home most Fridays nights, I get to watch my guilty pleasure TV show, So You Think You Can Dance (I already said I was cool). Tonight one of the songs they danced to was Angus & Julia Stone's version of 'You're the one that I want' from the musical Grease. How did I miss this when it first came out???
I have found a live recording, Julia has a little Dolly Parton sound going on and Angus may be singing but I can't hear him through all that beard and hair. Enjoy! Happy weekending!
